HUNTER BAUMANN ’23
MAJOR Accounting
HOMETOWN Marathon, Wis.
ORGANIZATION Schuette Metals Rothschild, Wis. TITLE Accounting / Finance Intern
What I did: I took part in a mixed variety of duties including reconciling bank activities, creating and posting journal entries, financial analysis, invoicing for both accounts payable and accounts receivable, cash deposits within our system, and projects including the creation of long-term payment reports of our clients to assist with our organizational goals. Each day entails different responsibilities and goals. What I liked: What I like the most about this position is that you have real accounting responsibilities and tasks. As an intern, you are cross-trained within all departments of the accounting team to assist wherever is needed—the work you do here matters. As a smaller manufacturing company, you can work closely with the CFO, other executives, and various department managers. The CFO has used a few of my accounting projects to assist in reaching our financial goals, which was a great feeling. You are looked at as an asset, not just an intern.
Future Dream Job: Managerial or executive position within a large organization.
