O
ne of western North Carolina’s brightest gems is the John
school’s 270-acre scenic campus each year. There are no tests or credits to deal with—the learning there is non- competitive and for enjoyment. Over 50 categories of subjects are offered, including art, music, dance, writing, nature studies and many different kinds of crafts, to name only a few. The school has been immersed in celebrating its 100th anniversary for the last year.
C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown. Since its founding in 1925, the Folk School has evolved into a large educational enterprise, attracting students from all across the country.
