Get to know Shehzad Surya, PT!

Dr. Toscano, DPT graduated from Manhattan College with her undergraduate degree in 2014, where she received her BS in Exercise Science with a Biology minor. She was a Division 1 athlete on the women’s lacrosse team, where she began to find her passion for sports injuries

Shehzad is originally from Mumbai, India and has lived in New York for the past nine years. He graduated from Vikas College of Physiotherapy with a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy and from Long Island University with

What Our Patients Have to Say a Master’s in Exercises Physiology. He has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, in-home, as well as outpatient clinics. He has a special interest in cardio-pulmonary conditions as well as vestibular disorders which he finds to be the most satisfying of the specialties. Among the most challenging and satisfying of cases he has seen, he recalls the case of a lady who was suffering from vertigo for two years which had affected all aspects of her life. Three sessions later she was significantly better and said it was the first time since the onset of the vertigo that she felt like a weight had been lifted off her head. He says it’s helping people, like her, return to full active lives that give him the most job satisfaction. He also has worked with a wide variety of post-surgical conditions and is happy to see people achieve the goals they set for themselves when they come in to our office. He is an avid sportsman who enjoys playing cricket and soccer and loves reading in his spare time. “I have been receiving in-home physical therapy from Reddy Care for about 6 weeks. I am happy to say that with the help of my PT, my balance has improved greatly and my legs are feeling stronger. I was impressed by all the different equipment brought by my PT to my home for our treatment sessions. It was as if the clinic was coming to me. I am very happy with the care I have been provided thus far.” – Nasir “I am a female senior citizen, aged 91, and throughout the years, have had several experiences with physical therapy. In the last two years, I’ve been dealing with spinal stenosis (not uncommon in the elder population), and the orthopedist recommended physical therapy which did not eliminate the discomfort of walking. After two epidurals recommended by the same orthopedist, physical therapy was again advised, and a few months ago, I chose Reddy Care because they offered pick-up and delivery, which was vital to me as I had to give up driving because of poor vision just a few months ago. The warmth of the Reddy Care staff was immediate, and the individual, personal care of Kate, my therapist, was apparent by comparison to previous therapy. Each session she brought her keen insight into my condition, and I’m able to walk without pain and just a mild discomfort. I’m grateful.” – Alice
