FROM THE HEADMASTER

The first half of our Lent term sizzled with energy as the children embraced new challenges after the Christmas break. It has been wonderful to see staff and pupils, side by side, being innovative, enthusiastic and kind. There have been many achievements too – and here are just a few of the highlights. Sporting successes over the last five weeks have been impressive, with some standout performances in rugby, netball, cross-country and table tennis. That said, well done and thank you to all those who represented the school – regardless of the team you played for.

Strumming, banging, bowing, blowing and tinkling - our musicians excelled in both the spectacular Gala Concert and our inaugural Piano-athon which saw every pupil and teacher in the school strike the piano keys in one way or another.

Receiving our Independent Schools Inspection report was a celebratory moment, affirming the broad education, care and learning experiences we offer daily. We were especially delighted that our significant strength in pastoral care and pupil wellbeing was recognised, a core value at the heart of everything we do. This was further reinforced by the visit of wellbeing expert Alicia Drummond, whose insights resonated deeply with pupils, parents and staff alike. Our recent scholarship performance evening was wonderful, providing a valuable opportunity for our dedicated musicians and performers to have a dry run ahead of their senior school scholarship days. On that note, I want to congratulate every pupil who put themselves forward for an award. Whether or not they received a scholarship, they demonstrated courage and commitment and the experience undoubtedly will serve them well in the future. We were thrilled to be awarded the prestigious EAL Gold Award, recognising our commitment to supporting pupils for whom English is an additional language. As the first boarding prep school in the country to receive this accolade, we are proud to champion an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

As always, thank you for your continued support, and thank you children for your unwavering enthusiasm! You inspire us every day.

Have a super half term.
