MAX C. TIPTON MEMORIAL AWARD FOR MARKETING EXCELLENCE
BARBARA J. STEWART WOMEN’S ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Differentiating itself from other industry accolades, the Tipton does not honor a successful business career, but rather acknowledges the recipient’s pursuit of creative ideas, innovations and concepts as expressed by a significant body of work that has clearly passed the test of time. Beyond being a recognized expert, the honoree must be a visionary leader who commands respect and whose selfless nature has contributed to the advancement of our industry through the consistent sharing of knowledge and mentoring of others. Honorees are selected by the past recipients in their annual gathering.
In light of her tremendous accomplishments as a marketing professional, and her willingness to share her knowledge, time and resources with others, in 1992 the Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) established an award in honor of Barbara (B.J.) Stewart. The B.J. Stewart Women’s Achievement Award continues to serve the industry’s future by encouraging recipients to emulate the positive qualities Barbara demonstrated in her professional and personal life, and also gives important and well-deserved recognition to outstanding women. Honorees are selected by the past recipients in their annual gathering.
