Gratitude in Motion As we turn the calendar to November, the spirit of Thanksgiving starts to fill the air — a perfect time to reflect on the heartfelt gratitude I feel toward our clients and the mutual appreciation that thrives within the walls of our clinic. Trust me, my team and I are thankful for our patients 365 days a year, but with Thanksgiving around the corner, I thought I’d give you a reminder about how grateful we are. Why We're Thankful for Our Clients and Their Hard Work

Over the years, the relationships we've built with our clients have grown far beyond the typical patient-practitioner dynamic, something I feel is really unique to physical therapy. We often see our clients weekly or even 2–3 times a week! This frequency allows us to get to know each other on a deeper level and understand each other's lives, struggles, and triumphs. So, when our patients share their gratitude with us, it really means the world. Our clients often express their thankfulness in wonderfully personal ways. After completing their physical therapy journey, it’s not uncommon for someone to bring in a box of chocolates or a batch of doughnuts to celebrate their progress and acknowledge the hard work of their therapist. These gestures, big or small, resonate deeply because they symbolize a significant milestone in their lives — and we're honored to be a part of that. One memorable story I cherish involves a past client who owned a private beach. Upon learning that one of our therapists was planning a wedding, the client generously offered their beach as a venue. It’s gestures like these that underscore the unique bonds formed through physical therapy, where care extends beyond physical healing. Gratitude in physical therapy isn't just about these tokens of appreciation, though. It's also about the dedication our clients show to their treatment. Everyone is busy, and committing to regular therapy sessions is no small feat. It's incredibly rewarding when clients show up, put in the work, and actively engage in their recovery. Their commitment enhances their treatment outcomes and enriches the therapeutic experience for everyone involved.

I'm incredibly thankful for the trust clients place in us when they recommend our clinic to their friends and family. There’s no higher compliment than a client telling their loved ones, "This is the team I trust to take care of you." This trust is a profound gift, one that speaks volumes about the relationships we strive to build. This Thanksgiving, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our clients — past, present, and future. Your trust, your time, and your stories are what fuel our passion for what we do every day. Thank you for allowing us into your lives, for sharing your challenges and victories, and for choosing us to guide you through your physical therapy journey. As we gather with our own families to celebrate the season, my team and I carry with us the spirit of gratitude for every individual who walks through our doors. You have helped shape our practice into a community of healing and support, and for that, we are immensely grateful. Happy Thanksgiving to all, and here’s to continuing our journey together with health, happiness, and an abundance of thankfulness.

TASTY TAKEOUT TRANSFORMATION Your Go-To Guide for Healthy Fast-Food Choices

Avoid fried foods. Many of the most popular dishes at fast- food restaurants are battered and fried. Look for items on the menu that are baked, steamed, roasted, or grilled, as they are healthier alternatives. Fried foods are high in calories and trans fat, which could negatively impact your health. Simple swaps like choosing a veggie burger instead of a regular burger with bacon or a baked potato instead of fries can make all the difference.

Are you hungry for some delicious takeout but want to keep it healthy? Whether you're craving spicy Szechuan or dreaming of a cheesy slice of pizza, we've got your back with the ultimate guide to guilt-free takeout! From swapping out egg rolls for lighter spring rolls to skipping your hamburger bun, discover how to indulge in your favorite cuisines without compromising health. So, grab your fork, and let's dive into the menu of nutritious takeout options that will satisfy your cravings and keep you healthy.

hamburgers at most restaurants typically contain only 250–300 calories, so you will still get a solid serving of protein with less fat — and save a little money. Skip the add-ons. When you crave fast food, every calorie counts. Say no to add-ons or extras for your meal, like bacon or cheese. Sauces and dressings often have extra calories and sugar, so avoiding them or asking for them on the side is best. If you want condiments on your food, like mayonnaise, ask them to add only a light amount or ask for sauce packets so you can control those extra calories. Some healthy and tasty swaps for flavor are avocado, hummus, or salsa. So, remember these tips to keep your meal delicious and healthier next time you're in the drive-thru line. You can enjoy a world of flavors without sacrificing your well-being by making mindful choices and small swaps.

Manage your portion sizes. Many fast food joints serve big portions you can split into two meals, so always watch how much food you order. Avoid supersizing your meal and stick to the smallest serving sizes for sides, drinks, and main entrees. Our favorite takeout hack is to check out the kid’s menu. The children-size

Path to Mobility and Stability

How PT Can Alleviate Diabetes-Related Mobility Issues

Mobility and Quality of Life Improved mobility is an essential goal in physical therapy for diabetic neuropathy. By working on flexibility and endurance, we help patients regain a greater range of motion and reduce the discomfort associated with neuropathic pain. This holistic approach goes a long way in improving the day-to-day lives of our patients, allowing them to perform daily activities with less pain and more confidence. Get Involved For anyone struggling with diabetes-related neuropathy or mobility issues, our physical therapy team is here to help. Engaging in a targeted physical therapy program can significantly alleviate symptoms and enhance your quality of life. If you or someone you know is battling these challenges, do not hesitate to reach out to us. Our dedicated team is committed to providing the care and support needed to manage the effects of diabetes effectively. This November, let's spread awareness about the importance of physical therapy in diabetes management and encourage those affected to seek the support they need. Together, we can improve lives and forge healthier futures for those with diabetes.

November not only ushers in the season of giving thanks but also marks National Diabetes Awareness Month. Unfortunately, a significant complication of diabetes is neuropathy, where high blood sugar levels cause nerve damage, primarily affecting the feet and legs. This condition can lead to troubling symptoms like pain, numbness, and a loss of sensation in the limbs, which in turn increases the risk of falls due to impaired balance. At our clinic, we understand the challenges faced by those living with diabetic neuropathy. Physical therapy treatment plays a crucial role in managing your symptoms through a strategic focus on enhancing balance, mobility, and overall muscle strength. Our specialized neuropathy program is designed to address these specific needs so you can get back to living your life. A Focus on Balance and Strength Balance and strength training are fundamental components of our neuropathy program for diabetic patients. Through targeted exercises, we help patients improve their muscle strength and control, which is vital for stabilizing their movements and preventing falls. Strengthening exercises improve muscle function and enhance blood flow, which is crucial for nerve health and reducing neuropathy symptoms.

Celebrity Tips for a Better Night’s Rest

Stars Share Their Sleep Advice

Have you ever struggled to fall back asleep after being awoken by the incessant barking of your neighbor’s Chihuahua? How about those nights when your mind is too busy replaying every embarrassing memory of yours on a loop rather than drifting off into unconsciousness? If you sometimes find it hard to get to sleep, you are not alone. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 15% of adults have trouble falling asleep. Some of those adults are celebrities , and they have great tips to help us get to sleep! Oprah Winfrey The entrepreneur and television personality Oprah Winfrey has a tried-and-tested method for ensuring a good night’s rest: a hot bath. Science agrees! According to a study published in Sleep Medicine Reviews, a warm shower or bath can improve sleep duration, efficiency, and quality. You don’t need Oprah’s

billions to help you sleep soundly — just fill that bathtub with warm, sudsy water!

Eva Mendes If you want to sleep like a baby — or like Eva Mendes — you might want to pick up a white noise machine. These devices help you drift to sleep on a wave of peaceful background noise. Gwyneth Paltrow We are all guilty of having a late-night snack from time to time. You know you’re in trouble when you are down to just Cap’n Crunch Oops! All Berries cereal in the pantry, and you’re still making yourself a bowl out of sleepy boredom. But that midnight munching impacts your sleep more than you may realize. That is why actress and business owner Gwyneth Paltrow has taken to eating an early dinner to prepare herself for bed. A study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health shows that eating

within three hours of bedtime increases the chance you will wake up in the middle of the night by about 10%. Eating more than three hours before bedtime may be very helpful if you want uninterrupted rest.
