Slightly further afield at the end of our ground lies the magnificent Furness Abbey in the ‘Vale of Nightshade’. Dating from 1123, Furness Abbey was once amongst the most highly regarded Cistercian monasteries in the country. Now the ruins are protected & managed by English Heritage. It has a visitor centre and Abbey House Hotel & Gardens has the privilege of offering a truly magnificent and unique setting for your ceremony and photography.
