The miracle of the Israelites crossing the Red Sea is placed alongside the story of Aladdin’s lamp (page 51). He condemns the church for “ dividing mankind into two classes, the saved and unsaved” (page 238). He holds that in practically every man’s life “ a door or window has unwittingly been left ajar, and through that God steals in” (page 239). Dr. Prank M. Goodchild well says of the book : “This is a singular book. It shows much kindliness toward th e agnostic and very little tow ard the present-day church member.
