a recent pastoral visit we were happily surprised to find th a t th ere had arrived a new lot of Mexicans into this railroad camp and this converted Mexican woman visited her new neighbors and testified of th e Gospel, the resu lt being th a t in stead of being simply a pastoral call it became a little Gospel meeting w ith fif teen attending for the first time. Thus th e seed sown is not in vain. This same woman told us also of a certain woman friend who warned her when she was beginning to h ear th e Gospel to inquire carefully. Now th is same woman is seeking to know more about the way herself. Thus we find th a t th e converts themselves propagate th e Gospel, and this is another cause of rejoicing. Coming Directly to God One of our students was privileged to win a woman in th e camp to Christ. At ano ther visit th is student stopped to talk to one of th e neighbors, who invited her in. This woman had received a Gospel of John on a previous visit and was very much interested because she had also heard and seen something of the new religion from her converted neighbor. She said to th e student th a t h er religion was very beautiful, which indicated th a t the neighbor had given a good testimony for she was th e only convert on th e street. This young woman wanted to know the difference between the. Catholic religion and purs and as the stud en t showed h er from the Scriptures th a t she did not have to call on Mary or th e saints, bu t go direct to God through Jesus Christ, the woman said, “Then I do not need to confess my sins to a priest, bu t only to God?” When she was asked if she wanted to accept Christ, she said, “Yes, bu t I must ask my husband first.”
“ F o r th e W o rd o f G od is q u ic k a n d p o w e rfu l.” B O those who believe in the God- breathed Scriptures, th e above text is of easy understanding. During th e past month God has crowned our services w ith success, so much so th a t we have had th e joy bells ringing in our h earts constantly. One evening, on our way to one of the camps where we hold a Bible class every week, the young Mexican who accom panied us said, “Let us go over to this new colony before we have the class.” So we went over, and entering a room where th ere were twenty-five men' g ath ered, we handed out tracts and con versed w ith the men, thu s leading up to a message. A fter the message this young convert gave his testimony; Then we explained to the men th a t a t th a t mo m ent they could be saved from sin if they accepted Christ, and asked if there were any who really wanted to accept Him. One young man behind us said, “ I want to accept Christ ton igh t,” and one by one they said they would accept Him un til there were thirteen. We then asked them to come close and had prayer, each one .definitely accepting Christ as his personal Saviour, after which we told them th a t we were going over to th e railroad camp to hold a Bible class. All who professed, to accept Christ th a t evening came over, as well as some others. Bach week since, we have had these men receiving Bible in struction, so we praise God for th e fru it th a t remains. Saved to Save O thers Another incident shows th e power of th e Word. In one of our previous a rti cles we mentioned the conversion of a woman who was a devoted worshiper of the Virgin Mary. In the home of th is woman we have had weekly Bible classes bu t since some of the converted fam ilies had moved elsewhere, we sus pended our weekly class. However, on
