needs of m an’s n atu re are all met. The conscience rests in th e knowledge th a t the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin (Heb. 9 :22 ; Eph. 1 :7 ; 1 John 1 :7 ). The intellect is quickened, sharpened, developed (Jas. 1 :5 ; 1 Cor. 1:30; Eph. 1 :1 7 ). The moral n atu re has a perfect ru le for guidance. The sp iritual life finds its cravings satisfied in Christ. 4. Sanctification. There is also the more abundan t life (John 1 :1 6 ). P au l’s prayer was th a t th e Ephesians m ight be filled w ith all th e fulness of God (Eph. 3:19; Col. 2 :9 ). Every believer receives the Holy Spirit as soon as he receives Christ as his Savior. The Holy Spirit is the seal by which the believer is set ap a rt as th e property of the Lord (Eph. 1 :1 3 ). It is, of course, th e earnest desire of th e Spirit th a t He m ight control the believer and im part th e larg er life. This deeper life was promised and it is possible (Acts 2 :4 ; John 1 :16 ; Eph. 3 :9 ; Col. 2:9, 10; Eph. 5 :1 8 ). It is ours. Shall we pos­ sess it? Did he find Jesus o r did Jesus find him? W hat did Jesus come down from Heaven to e a rth for? (Luke 19:10.) What did Jesus say to th e blind man? (v. 7.) Did th e blind man obey Jesus? Were his eyes opened? Do you th in k the man

was happy to be able to see like other people? Did' you ever try holding your hand over your eyes, or tying a hand­ kerchief over them for a long time, and then tak e it away? How good, it seems to be able to see once more, doesn’t it? Whenever you see a blind man, th ink of th is story. If the blind man knows about Jesus Christ and takes Him to be his Saviour, then— even if his eyes are never opened here—-they surely will be in Heaven and he will be able to see Jesus there. How many of you ever saw a large flock of sheep? In th e country of P al­ estine where Jesus lived they k ep t a g reat many sheep. The man who takes care of the sheep is called a shepherd. A good shepherd would be one who took good care of his sheep— saw th a t they had plenty of grass to eat and w ater to drink, and th a t no wild animals h u rt them ; and if one of t*hem got lost, would look for it until he found it and bring it home again. How many of you know the Twenty- th ird Psalm? (The teacher m ight read or recite it, or if any of th e children know it, let them rep eat it,) Who is the shepherd th a t is spoken of in this Psalm? . In Palestine, th e shepherd never drove his sheep but always went ahead of them and th e sheep followed. If he had a hundred sheep, he would know every one by name, and every sheep knew its name, and would come when called. Then, too, they knew th eir shep­ h erd ’s voice, and would not follow a stranger, (v. 5.) Jesus told His disciples th a t He was a Good Shepherd and they were His sheep (v. 14). Then He told them in th e 9th verse th a t He was the door of the sheep-fold. How do you th ink He could be the shepherd and a door a t the same time? It was th is way: A fter the shepherd put all his sheep into the fold at night, he would lie down in the opening him ­ self, and guard the sheep all n igh t long.
