Safe boating practices
After one of the longest, coldest winters on record, the ice has melted and tens of thousands of Ontario boaters and anglers are looking forward to spending time on the water enjoying their favourite pastimes. Spring is the perfect time to give some serious thought tomaking sure this summer is a safe one on the water. With this goal in mind, the Ontario Conservation Officers
Association (OCOA) proudly joins the Canadian Safe Boating Council (CSBC) to promote the annual North American Safe Boating AwarenessWeek, May 16 to 22, 2015. “Our members actively enforce the laws regarding safe boating”, said OCOA President Tim Rochette, an Ontario Conservation Officer based in North Bay, and an active angler and boater. “It is the responsibility
of every boater to ensure that they enjoy the outdoors safely.” At the core of the 2015 campaign are the five keymessages that are being consistently delivered to the boating community: First, wear a personal floatation device or lifejacket; don’t drink and boat; take a boating course; be prepared, both you and your vessel; be wary of the dangers of cold
water immersion. “Our members will be on the water during Safe Boating Awareness Week, whether working or enjoying some recreational time with our families”, added Rochette. “I encourage all anglers and boaters to start now to help us make this an accident free season.”

Under the Large Renewable Procurement
St. Isidore Energy Centre Limited Partnership is proposing to submit a proposal to the Inde- pendent Electricity System Operator (IESO) to design, build, and operate the St. Isidore Wind Energy Centre for the generation of electricity under the IESO’s Large Renewable Procure- ment (LRP). The LRP is a competitive process for procuring large renewable energy projects generally larger than 500 kilowatts. At the conclusion of the LRP, the IESO may award contracts for successful projects up to the specified procurement targets for each renewable fuel: 300 megawatts (MW) for wind, 140 MW for solar, 75 MW for waterpower, and 50 MW for bioenergy. This notice is being distributed to notify members of the public of a public community meeting that has been scheduled to discuss the LRP proposal. Information regarding EDF EN Canada Development Inc., the St. Isidore Wind Energy Centre, and the meeting details are described below. This public community meeting is being held as part of the early community engagement requirements of the LRP. The public commu- nity meeting will present details about the St. Isidore Wind Energy Centre and its proposed connection line. Representatives of EDF EN Canada Development Inc. will be available to discuss the Project and the overall LRP process. Should St. Isidore Wind Energy Centre be awarded a contract, the Project would need to obtain all required permits and approvals and conduct any further required community engagement activities. Des renseignements sur EDF EN Canada Development Inc., le projet éolien de St. Isidore et la rencontre communautaire sont présentés ci-dessous. Cette rencontre publique aura lieu dans le cadre des exigences du LRP I RFP relatives à la consultation de la communauté tôt dans le projet. La rencontre com- munautaire présentera des informations sur le projet éolien de St. Isidore et sur la ligne de raccordement envisagée. Des représentants d’EDF EN Canada Inc. seront présents sur place pour discuter du projet et du processus général du LRP I RFP. Si le projet éolien de St. Isidore se voit accorder un contrat, il devra ob- tenir ultérieurement tous les permis et approbations nécessaires et réaliser toute autre activité exigée de consultation de la communauté.
