Abstract: This study is a comparison of the determinants of national identity in Qatar in social studies textbooks in the primary stage during the period preceding and following the blockade. The study sample consists of social studies books for the first semester of grades 1 to 6 for the academic years 20172018- and 20182019-. The study argues that the blockade has left its mark on school curriculum as well as Qatari society, economy and politics.
