READY TO TAKE FLIGHT?

FLIGHT PROGRAM AT EMBRY-RIDDLE

A Tradition of Aviation Excellence

Home to the most advanced flight curriculum of any university in the world, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is proud to offer comprehensive, quality instruction to the aviators of tomorrow. Embry-Riddle is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) — one of only three AABI-accredited programs in the Western United States. Eagles begin their training on day one, and those who pay their deposit by Preview Day are guaranteed to fly within their first 30 days on campus. All aircraft in our fleet are no more than four years old. We are surrounded by 5,000 square miles of uncongested airspace, so you spend more time in the air. Flight program leaders are skilled, accessible and dedicated to student success. Students graduate with Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) eligibility, resulting in 500 fewer hours required to earn their rating.

Innovative Training to Level Up Your Skills

Embry-Riddle recently reopened its Robertson Simulator Center after a complete overhaul that has made leading-edge technologies and the latest in simulation devices available to the 1,000+ flight students at the Prescott Campus. Check out the upgrades we’ve made to enhance your flight training experience: New Simulation Equipment: The center now features a range of simulators, from essential training devices to advanced full-motion platforms, with a Level D simulator for regional jet training coming soon. Advanced Simulation Features: New technology includes improved visual graphics, realistic control feedback and environmental effects. Integration of Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI): Expanded use of virtual reality for immersive flight training helps personalize training environments, and we’re aiming for full VR integration by the end of 2025. Data-Driven Training Innovations: The renovated center supports data collection and analysis, partnering with the College of Security, Business & Intelligence to explore AI and machine learning to elevate training and safety. Proven Benefits of VR Training: Early VR adoption at Embry-Riddle has shown a 28% reduction in training time to solo, improved radio communication skills and reduced anxiety among students.

You’re Investing in Your Future. So Are We!

The Strategic Aviation Flight Education (SAFE) Complex is a collaboration between Prescott Regional Airport (KPRC) and Embry-Riddle to create a dedicated space for aviation education and workforce development.

Located on the north side of the main runway, the SAFE Complex will be home to Embry-Riddle’s flagship program and feature 500,000 square feet for flight training along with hangars and other educational spaces. Key highlights of the SAFE Center include: Comprehensive Development: Future phases to support rotary, fixed-wing and UAS operations. Advanced ATC Integration: An FAA “Next Gen” ATC facility is planned for the site. Sustainable and Digital Approach: Emphasis on green design, digital integration and augmented and virtual reality environments. Community Collaboration: Educational partnerships focused on aerospace expertise. The SAFE initiative will allow students to emerge as leaders in aviation and help Embry-Riddle continue to meet the growing industry demand for skills in AI, machine learning and automation.

Embry-Riddle is committed to continuously improving the student experience, and that includes making our unparalleled program more cost- effective for you. That’s why we’ve: Invested in state-of-the-art simulators — complete with variable terrain, aircraft traffic, hazardous weather conditions and more — offering a savings of 5% on instrument training. Integrated the Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating into our four-year Aeronautical Science program, allowing students to spend an average of $6 K less on training. Offered full-time employment to internally trained CFIs, providing compensation, benefits and tuition waiver — significantly reducing the cost of attendance to build R-ATP hour minimums. The Embry-Riddle Approach: Accelerated, Affordable Aviation Training

Thanks to our vast airspace, students enjoy reduced average flight times and a less congested experience in training areas. Our new simulator equipment features innovative visual graphic generation, control loading technology to make it feel more like an airplane and environmental controls that include elements such as smoke generation devices to realistically simulate emergency events.

Find Your Future in Flight

The cost of flight training can be daunting, but you don’t have to let expenses keep you from pursuing your passion. Our team of dedicated Financial Aid representatives is ready to help you and your family take advantage of the many financing options available and build a tailored flight budget that turns your dreams into reality.

Scholarships Incoming first-year students are automatically considered for merit scholarships — no separate application is required. Using the Scholarship Manager on ERNIE, students can also submit one general application to be matched with hundreds of donor-funded awards for which they may be eligible, including many that are specific to flight.

Flight Dollars These prepaid debit accounts are overseen by the program chair and allow parents, friends and other sponsors to designate funds to be used exclusively for a student’s flight training.

Apprenticeships Employment opportunities in the Flight Department allow students to put money toward their training while gaining valuable experience in key areas of aviation.

Grants and Loans Federal grants, private grants and loans are also available to help with uncovered costs. Be sure to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid* (FAFSA) and explore your financing options.

“Being a CFI at Embry-Riddle has allowed me to give back to the community that has and continues to support me in my aviation journey, the place where my passion for aviation grew. From my first solo in 2019 at Embry-Riddle to now being a CFI, it has come full circle for me, and there is no place I would rather build my experience as an aviator while preparing for what’s next in my aviation career.”

We offer students an opportunity to log the 1,000 hours required to earn their R-ATP rating as a certified flight instructor right here at Embry-Riddle — not to mention a two-year scholarship to do so. As a result, our graduates begin airline training far more prepared than their counterparts.
