We hope that the resources in these newsletters will assist you to translate evidence into practice, build knowledge and capacity to manage the complexity of health care delivery and behaviour change. Clinical leaders are required to challenge everyday practice, while remaining focused on delivering quality safe patient care. Therefore, an important part of our roles in the Nursing and Midwifery Research Centre is
to provide NSLHD nurses and midwives with guidance in implementing new practices or interpreting evidence to improve patient care. We can offer assistance and support in conceptualising, designing and or implementing your projects with your clinical teams. Congratulations to Dr Naomi Hammond (Intensive Care Unit Research Nurse Manager, Royal North Shore Hospital and The University of Sydney) who led the research project and was first author on the paper which was awarded the Gavin Lesley Best Nursing Paper published in Australian Critical Care: Impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic on critical care healthcare workers' depression, anxiety, and stress levels. The Gavin Leslie Best Nursing Paper recognises excellence in nursing research by a member of the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses. The award is a national award to promote and reward high quality nursing research and scholarship of College members. NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Research and Innovative Practice Conference 2022 The Nursing and Midwifery Research and Innovative Practice Conference is on Wednesday 15th June 2022 in the Kolling Building, Royal North Shore Hospital . All NSLHD nursing and midwifery staff are invited to attend. This one-day conference will showcase nursing and midwifery research and innovative practice conducted within NSLHD and highlight the contribution towards excellence in health care. We invite NSLHD nurses and midwives to submit their abstracts for the conference. All abstracts will be peer reviewed and published in the book of proceedings. Requiring some assistance with literature searches, research projects or updating policies and guidelines? NSLHD staff can enrol in an NSLHD Library Master Class. These sessions develop and enhance your searching skills. Learn to search effectively and efficiently for current, authoritative medical, nursing and/or allied health literature to answer your clinical question. Library Master Classes are available for individuals or small groups remotely via Skype or Microsoft Teams. Request a training session with a librarian at a time that suits you and your team.

Potential research opportunities and scholarships
NSW Health Nursing and Midwifery Innovation Scholarships Applications are now open for the NSW Health Nursing and Midwifery Innovation Scholarships. NSLHD nurses and midwives are encouraged to apply, and must forward their completed application forms to their facility DONM for approval no later than 29 April 2022 .Visit the NSW Health website for further details.
