visit and weren’t familiar with San Diego County. They suggested some cities close to where they’d be working, but they really didn’t know what the area was like. This time, our San Diego specialist, Cristina, went above and beyond to find them their dream home.When they flew in, she didn’t just show them houses: She spent an entire afternoon familiarizing them with the various neighborhoods of San Diego. After picking the couple up from the airport, Cristina drove them all around, showing them North San Diego and taking them to two communities she thought would fit their lifestyle. The tour was more than about viewing houses. She drove them by schools, showed them hiking trails, and viewed the beautiful beaches with them. Cristina knew the primary purpose of the afternoon was to find a community that would match their lifestyle. Did you know the odds of finding a four-leaf clover are 1 in 10,000? It’s pretty rare. But we’re certain those statistics must be wrong, because we’ve found an entire field of four-leaf clovers — our clients. People like you.We often can’t believe how lucky we are to know people who are more to us than clients. They’re friends. Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting a couple moving from Northern California to San Diego County for a job transfer. They had visited San Diego only once before and had just one day to view as many houses as possible and potentially place an offer to buy one. They flew in at 6 a.m. and only had until 3 p.m. to see properties. What’s an agent to do in this situation?Well, we got to work. Before meeting with the couple, we called all the agents who had properties listed in their desired area. There happened to be a house in coastal San Diego that fit all their criteria for a dream house. From the listing online, it looked like it could be the one. But there was a catch. The listing agent specifically stated on the MLS,“NO SHOWINGS UNTIL …” Sadly, the date was listed for two days after our clients’ visit. Despite the barrier, I had a feeling the home was a perfect match for them, so I called the agent. I got through to her assistant and pleaded my case. It paid off. The agent called her clients and asked if we could show their house early. They said yes! Suddenly, all the details from our hard work fell into place. We showed our clients the home just before they flew out.We were the first ones to see it, and within an hour, we all knew it was most likely the one. The couple bought it, and they’re now our new friends.We feel so fortunate.
