Shell appointed Zenith to design and install a temporary lifting davit, to facilitate the replacement of a 710 kgs flare tip on Shell’s FPSO Curlew located in the North Sea.

Zenith has successfully inspected and refurbished the A5 complex and K1 Ammonia plant. The project involved using various access methods, such as rope access and suspended cradle access systems.

In 2020, Zenith carried out maintenance work that involved replacing the existing flare tip, which is situated on an elevated boom structure. To facilitate this, Zenith created a custom lifting frame that could be installed onto the upper flare derrick. This allowed us to safely remove the old flare tip and replace it with a new one weighing 2267kgs.

Zenith completed a major refurbishment of a 100m high flare stack at ExxonMobil ethylene plant at Mossmorran. The project included the replacement of the upper section of the main riser including the replacement of the flare tip. New guy wires were installed to the new upper section. In addition, necessary repairs were carried out to the steam lines throughout the full height.

Zenith Structural Access Solutions Limited has successfully completed a major flare stack refurbishment in Flotta, United Kingdom.

Zenith Structural Access Solutions Limited was awarded the contract, by AMNI International Petroleum Development Company Limited, to design and install a temporary lifting frame to facilitate the replacement of a 907kgs flare tip located on a FPSO offshore in Nigeria. The design, supply and installation of the temporary lifting frame was carried out completely in- house. Our proven safe method results in significant cost savings when compared with expensive helicopters & barge cranes

Building on an existing relationship with ExxonMobil, Zenith were appointed to provide an experienced multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe, technical, innovative access solutions during the construction of Europe’s largest ground flare. The complexities of working within a live petrochemical plant required innovative, technical solutions and close collaboration with the wider project team.

Zenith SAS worked closely with in house engineering team and designed and fabricated a bespoke temporary lifting gantry which was installed to the existing upper flare derrick to allow for the safe removal of the existing flare tip and the installation of the replacement flare tip by Zenith SAS Limited. Following a successful trial assembly and FAT, at Zenith’s dedicated Testing Facilities in Scotland, the equipment was shipped to the offshore platform for outage work scope.
