Executive Summary

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is a world-famous, collections-based scientific organisation, internationally respected for its outstanding collections as well as its expertise in plant and fungal diversity, conservation and sustainable development in the UK and around the world. It has two main botanic garden sites: Kew Gardens in south- west London, a top London visitor attraction and UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Wakehurst in West Sussex, our wild botanic garden which is home to the Millennium Seed Bank. We also have a permanent research office in Madagascar, one of the world’s biodiversity hot spots. In 2020 Kew published its ambitious new 10 year corporate strategy (Kew’s Manifesto for Change) laying out its strategic priorities to 2030 to tackle the twin global challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss. Reporting to the Head of Estates Projects, the Senior Project Manager will play a leading role in the construction of the New Herbarium Project and will be responsible for planning, development and delivery of the proposed new facility. The role calls for a highly skilled, client-side senior project manager with experience of delivering significant (£50m+) complex, new build projects (including Modern Methods of Construction) in the science and research sector
