Validation/effectiveness of the Safety-First Programme forms an integral part of the annual external surveillance audits of our ISO 50001 (energy management systems) 45001, 14001 and 9001 certified (and integrated) SHEQ Management System. Auditors (during the audit process) monitor Ardmac staff in the workplace (in our offices and one our projects) taking the lead on Safety-First conversations, taking the time to engage with the workforce, using our SPA (our “dynamic risk assessment) to ensure workers are safe, in the right frame of mind for the task at hand / ahead and that the system of work in operation is sound and hazard free. Ardmac are also CIF Safe T certified, retaining an “A” rating for more than 10 consecutive years. Again, during this robust annual external certification process, our Safety-First Programme, its effectiveness, the training in place for staff, and the levels of engagement by the workforce are validated to a high standard. Ardmac are not only validated by CIF Safe T and ISO, but our Safety-First Programme forms an integral part of our annual RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) awards submission (and has been rewarded with Gold Standard Award status for 23 consecutive years). Having a strong health and safety presence in a construction company such as Ardmac is crucial for several reasons. It helps ensure compliance with legal regulations, reducing the risk of costly penalties down the road. The Safety First programme also helps to foster a safer work environment, which will lead to decreased accidents and injuries, thus minimising downtime and improving productivity. Additionally, our health and safety initiatives enhance employee morale and loyalty, creating an even more positive company culture. The processes and efforts we make aid in the prevention of potential liabilities. A robust health and safety department contributes to the overall sustainability and success of Ardmac.
