IORGIO ARMANI SAT OUT HIS own finale in Milan on Monday, recuperating from an undisclosed ailment at age 90, yet his imprint framed every look. In place of
the customary salute, Leo Dell’Orco (the designer’s menswear lieutenant of 45 years) accepted the applause, underscoring the house’s half-century of continuity. Models sometimes walked in twos, one presenting male, one presenting female. Cropped shawl-collar jackets met wide, pleated trousers that either tapered to the ankle or swept over suede sandals and pastel boots, suggesting city mornings that slip easily into seaside afternoons. Lightweight leather trenches and slouching knits lent shape while keeping heat at bay.
