Talericos, and Mattiellis have helped shape our story across the genera- tions. Today, we are proud to main- tain a 100% all-Alaskan workforce. Looking ahead, we see a bright future for mining in Alaska. With the right balance of permitting and regula- tory certainty, our state can continue to lead in responsible resource develop- ment. For UCM, that means moderniz- ing operations, expanding reclamation programs, and building stronger part- nerships with educational institutions and community organizations. We have invested millions in elec- trical system upgrades and continue to explore opportunities to integrate sustainable technologies alongside traditional energy sources. Our engi- neering team is also developing a plan to relocate the Ace-in-the-Hole, our 2,100-ton dragline and Alaska’s largest piece of land-moving equipment, to the Jumbo Dome mine, where our primary coal mining activities are now focused. Our longstanding partnership with the Alaska Miners Association and the National Mining Association has been essential in advocating for responsible

ing innovation, and working alongside our fellow AMA members to ensure mining continues to benefit Alaska for generations to come.

Usibelli began reclamation efforts in 1977, well before it was federally required. Since then, we have restored more than 5,500 acres of previously mined land. Our program has earned both state and national recognition for its success, innovation, and leadership. At the heart of our work is a strong sense of responsibility to our employ- ees, our community, and Alaska’s fu- ture. We are committed to producing coal in a way that is safe, environ- mentally responsible, and commu- nity-minded. Each year, we proudly support more than 100 nonprofit organizations across the state through both the coal mine and the Usibelli
Foundation. Our giving focuses on ed- ucation, youth programs, and health and social services. Organizations such as the Fairbanks Community Food Bank, Neighbor-to-Neighbor, Tri-Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Fairbanks Rescue Mission, and Junior Achievement of Alaska are just a few of the many we are proud to support. We take pride in investing in peo- ple, staying true to our values, and planning for the long term. We believe in empowering our workforce, many of whom represent second, third, or even fourth generations of Usibel- li employees. We offer careers, not just jobs. Families like the Grahams,
at UCM in the Human Resources and Purchasing departments. Kayla Mayo, a fourth-generation coal miner, is currently attending UAF and taking pre-nursing classes. Her father, Kevin Mayo, is our day shift production foreman. Together, these young profession- als represent more than just the next generation of Alaskans; they are living proof of our values and deep commu- nity ties. Their work each summer plays a critical role in helping us meet and exceed environmental standards.
