Fairbanks League of Women Voters Mining Forum
In April AMA participated in a forum by the League of Women Voters of Tanana Valley titled “Mining in our backyard.” In addition to executive director Deantha Skibinski, Bob Loeffler from ISER, Dave Charron at DNR, Melissa Kellner from the Fairbanks North Star Borough planning department, Sarah Heinchon of “Save our Domes” (formed to oppose exploration in the “domes” of Interior) and Barbara Schumann with Advocates for Safe Alaska Highways. The League joined with local radio KUAC and the Fairbanks Daily News Miner and moderated a discussion amongst all panelists. A recording of the forum is available at: www. lwvalaska.org/fairbanks.
