A wonderful grace note in our visit with friends in this lovely city was a tea service at one of the city’s most important hotels. It had been a parador, an historical building repurposed and modernized as a hotel after having started their “lives” as palaces, fortresses, and monasteries.
Hotel de la Reconquista
We sat in a spacious lobby surrounded by beautiful art work, comfortable furniture, luxurious carpeting, and high ceilings. A young man served the tea and pastries and we felt like we had entered the realm of a palace and were honored guests. Perfect end to our happy reunion with friends and the luxury tour of beautiful Oviedo.
