JOCELYN TARANGO ’24
MAJOR Management
HOMETOWN Green Bay, Wis. ORGANIZATION JBS Green Bay, Wis. TITLE Operations Intern
What I did: Throughout my internship I helped out with the operations of the business. My project focused on the capture of three specific products. Essentially what that means is the number of pieces boxed, vs what is boxed. I got to work with upper management to come up with solutions on how to increase our yields and capture. Through out this time I collected product and data to come up with potential solutions. My project was then implemented, we added two chutes as well as some SOPS. Besides this I helped around wherever I was needed. With operations, especially at a manufacturing plant, there is so much going on and there is always something to do. Whether it was sorting product, or keeping notes and track of product. What I liked: I really liked the people. My first couple of weeks I struggled since It was something out of my comfort zone, but the people working there really helped me get out of my comfort zone. Whether it was management or the hourly production workers, they always made sure I was doing okay, and that I was having a fun time. I also liked that it kept me busy, and showed me the operational side of the business. Future Dream Job: I would like to be the director of HR or operations. I would also like to open my own business.
