JON AFFELDT ’24
MAJOR Business Economics HOMETOWN Monticello, Minn. ORGANIZATION MASH Baseball Savage, Minn. TITLE Assistant Coach
What I did: Created lineups, coordinated umpires, managed tournaments, actively coached during games, ran defense lessons (ages 9-12), coordinated and ran player practices, talked to scouts from many colleges about my players or MASH in general. What I liked: I liked getting to be on the other end of the baseball world. I liked being able to talk to scouts, discuss lineups and defensive positioning, and to see the game develop in a different way than I did when I was a player. I also loved developing relationships around baseball, some of the people I was able to meet will be lifelong friends and connections. Future Dream Job: Head of baseball operations for a organization like MASH, or for a professional baseball team.
