Our Safety Steering Committee, composed of senior leaders and managers from all functional areas, meets monthly to analyze Trex safety performance data, review incident reports and corrective actions, and share ideas for improving safety across the company. The committee is part of our three-tiered approach to reviewing, tracking, and addressing health and safety concerns at different organizational levels, ensuring every issue is resolved. In 2024, we launched FAST Response as an additional way to follow up on EH&S concerns. Representatives from our manufacturing leadership and other personnel attend weekly FAST Response meetings focused on identifying and correcting safety non-compliance cases and preventing future incidents. In addition, we enhanced our data collection and assessment systems to enable better analysis of EH&S-related statistical indicators across the company. LOGO USAGE
health plan were also eligible to enroll in the wellness plan, and 28% chose to participate.
We educate and train all new employees, including temporary workers, on safety as part of our onboarding process. Newly hired manufacturing employees complete additional health and safety training related to their specific job responsibilities. In 2024, we extended this supplemental training period to four weeks and added a greater focus on preventative actions to improve safety. Failure to complete required safety training can be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. In addition, we conduct annual behavior-based safety (BBS) training for all manufacturing workers. These in-person BBS classes combine theoretical knowledge with practical techniques to help employees stay vigilant about potential risks. We offer safety trainings in both Spanish and English to help ensure that all team members fully understand the material. By providing bilingual support, we aim to heighten safety knowledge and build a stronger safety culture.

Making Safety Part of the Daily Conversation
Underscoring our belief that workplace safety is a shared responsibility, we regularly update our employees on safety- related developments and integrate their feedback into our plans for continuous improvement. At the start of every production shift, our floor supervisors and their team members huddle to discuss a predetermined safety topic for the day. This helps raise overall safety awareness and build support for our best practices at the peer-to-peer level. The pre-shift huddles also allow employees to voice issues of concern and initiate rapid responses from Trex leaders.
Maintaining Clean and Organized Sites
We continually refine our industrial hygiene practices to help ensure that Trex workplace conditions are free of physical, ergonomic, chemical, and biological hazards. This is important because the waste materials we recycle require constant vigilance to minimize and clean up spillage onto the factory floor. Company leaders take daily walks through our production facilities to observe current practices and identify opportunities to continuously improve workplace safety. We emphasize to employees the importance of keeping their work environments orderly, and we maintain dedicated production housekeeping teams to keep spaces free of clutter. Our approach includes implementing lean management techniques that contribute to operating our facilities more safely and efficiently. In 2024, we conducted several internal audits at various Trex facilities based on the 5S Lean Principles:
Employee Wellness
Our Wellness team works closely with their colleagues in EH&S to support the overall well-being of Trex team members. Through our company-sponsored health insurance program, we offer a variety of wellness-oriented benefits, including preventative health screenings, diabetes management programs, weight loss programs, and walking challenges. We translate all wellness- related communication into Spanish, and our health insurance information website is also accessible in Spanish. Employees who choose to take advantage of our wellness resources are eligible for a reduced out-of-pocket premium on their health insurance. In 2024, 100% of our employees were eligible for the Trex health plan. Of those eligible team members, 1,381 (78% ) elected to opt into the health plan. Employees in the
Safety Pulse Survey
In 2024, we conducted our first-ever companywide Safety Pulse Survey to better understand how employees from all different functions across Trex experience this essential part of our workplace culture. The inaugural survey yielded an initial baseline of perceptions and opinions to help shape our next steps. For example, we are using these insights to help benchmark our EH&S performance against other companies in our industry and the geographic areas where we operate. The findings will also help us prioritize our safety-related programs and investments toward areas of greatest strategic need and opportunity within Trex.
