have become a valuable opportunity for employees to bond with their teammates.

Newly hired manufacturing workers complete additional on-the-job technical skills training and classroom learning. For Spanish-speaking employees at both our Virginia and Nevada facilities, bilingual trainers conduct the training. In 2024, we lengthened this phase of onboarding from two weeks to four weeks for employees in Winchester, allowing our crew trainers and supervisors to spend more time reinforcing safety practices and seeing new hires demonstrate the skills they have learned in class. We use the results of these observations as a basis for providing follow-up support to new hires where needed. In addition, we created a new on-the-job training module specifically geared toward the safety and quality requirements for new hires in our railing manufacturing operations. This change in approach reflects the growth of our railing business; previously, these employees received the same training as our new decking manufacturing workers. Safety trainers continue checking in with new hires during their first 90 days to ensure they are working safely and successfully. In addition to essential manufacturing concepts, we introduce Trex values and culture to inform new hires about how we behave and what we stand for.

We provide targeted training for employees across various functions, from manufacturing to customer support. To further evolve our programs, we added a dedicated training specialist in 2024. We also continued to align our training opportunities more closely with the specific competencies that our employees need to advance their careers. New learning opportunities in 2024 included in-person and virtual courses on the use of Microsoft® Excel® software—a topic that had been requested by many employees. Our introductory, intermediate, and advanced Excel training sessions drew a total of 145 participants from our Winchester and Fernley locations in 2024. Based on employees’ strong interest, we are adding more Excel classes this year. LOGO USAGE Micro Workshops We offer a series of micro workshops to hone the skills of our manufacturing employees. In 2024, this program delivered 13 workshops focused on topics like product quality, equipment operations, occupational safety, and continuous improvement. Nearly 900 employees attended at least one micro workshop in 2024, compared with 555 in 2023. Trex University Trex University is a state-of-the-art, marketing-oriented facility near our Virginia manufacturing operations where employees, retailers, contractors, and other partners can learn more about various Trex product lines. Our Marketing team regularly updates the Trex University curriculum to ensure that it reflects our latest offerings. Build Days Each year, Trex organizes several Build Day events that give employees the chance to assemble a deck using Trex products. Build Days help team members appreciate the benefits of our innovative decking materials—and draw upon that experience in conversations with Trex customers. Also, these events

We offer English and Spanish language lessons to foster a more collaborative environment. We also extended our English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to accommodate the schedules of additional shift workers at Trex manufacturing sites. Taught by local community college instructors, the in-person ESL classes are specifically designed to enhance our employees’ cultural competence as well as their English proficiency.

Tuition Reimbursement

To support employees wishing to further their external education while remaining with Trex, we offer a generous tuition reimbursement program. Full-time employees are reimbursed up to $5,000 annually to pursue associate degrees, $7,500 to pursue bachelor’s degrees and $10,000 to pursue master’s degrees. Employees also may receive tuition reimbursement for select vocational and technical degrees and certificates. A total of 11 employees benefited from our tuition reimbursement program in 2024, one of whom graduated with a degree.

TREX FAMILY SCHOLARSHIPS We offer Trex Family Scholarships to dependents of our employees who want to pursue higher education at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, or at vocational or technical schools in the U.S. In 2024, we awarded scholarships totaling $75,000 to 21 students.

Onboarding Employees

We invest in Trex employees’ long-term professional growth from day one through our onboarding program. Newly hired corporate office employees start their orientation with a welcome presentation that includes messages from Trex senior leaders and an overview of our products, followed by a meet-and-greet lunch with team members and a tour of our production facilities. Our manufacturing operations conduct a separate onboarding experience for new hires. In addition, salaried hires at our Virginia plant and in field-based roles visit Trex University to experience our products firsthand. As part of their tailored onboarding experience, employees joining our Sales and Customer Experience Center teams also attend product knowledge sessions and participate in one of our build days. A Focus on Safety Safety is a key focus of new-hire onboarding. We provide safety training for office employees based at one of our manufacturing facilities or who regularly visit those locations. Learn more about our commitment to health and safety on pages 20-22 .

Internships

Our internship program provides learning opportunities for college students in engineering, information technology, marketing, and other fields. Starting in 2024, we expanded this program to include students pursuing vocational degrees. Trex hosted 23 interns across 13 departments, our largest-ever group. Throughout their internship experience, students work on projects that are integral to our business while they also receive mentorship and guidance from Trex department managers. At the end of the program, interns present highlights of their work to our executive leadership team. In 2024, we were delighted to hire two interns for full-time roles in our Information Technology and Engineering Research and Development departments.
