NexTrex® Plastic Film Recycling Challenge
magnets to help participants understand what types of recycled PE film can be used in the Trex manufacturing process. In addition, schools and community organizations can ask us questions by phone or through an online form. In 2024, we created a directory of Trex-affiliated waste PE drop-off locations that participants can search by ZIP code on the web site. Along with simplifying access to our program, this directory helps ensure that the PE film collected by local organizations will reach us and be made into Trex products.
Our 2024 grant recipients included Wheels for Wellness, a Winchester, Virginia-based nonprofit that provides free rides to medical appointments and treatment for patients who lack other transportation options. Also, we launched a ten-year sponsorship of the Blue Ridge Youth Soccer Association to help build and maintain playing fields in the Winchester area.
We also mobilize community efforts to divert waste PE from landfill through our NexTrex® Plastic Film Recycling Challenge. As part of this competition, we award a bench from the Trex® Outdoor Furniture Collection to each participating school or community organization that collects and recycles at least 1,000 pounds of PE film during a 12-month period. More than simply an added source of material for use in Trex products, the Recycling Challenge also educates people about the environmental benefits of PE film recycling and encourages them to reduce their single-use plastic consumption. Trex and its employees take pride in being responsible members of our communities. We support an array of local organizations through charitable donations and volunteer service projects. Aligned with our vision to enhance people’s lives, we direct corporate philanthropic grants toward communities’ most pressing social needs. Together with our employees, we directed more than $238,000 in donations to 73 nonprofit and community organizations during 2024. The organizations that we supported provide hospice care, address food insecurity, strengthen emergency response, support educational programs, provide workforce training, and advance other good causes.
Employee Volunteering
We encourage our team members to share their valuable time and talents as volunteers with organizations that are helping communities thrive. Along with organizing company- sponsored volunteer events each year, we are working to match local nonprofits more intentionally with Trex employees whose professional skills and experience can help address the organization’s specific needs. This type of skills-based

ALL HANDS ON DECK Throughout 2024, we continued to provide opportunities for our company and its employees to engage in the local communities where we operate. For example, volunteers from Trex helped a nonprofit food pantry in Winchester with a maintenance project as part of our All Hands on Deck initiative. These and other outreach efforts help us form deeper,
