Environmental Policy 2024 proof points: Water Recycling Impact: Nearly 18,760 million gallons of process water were recycled in our manufacturing operations.  Efficient Water Use: 99% of process water at our Virginia and Nevada facilities is recycled through our closed-loop recirculation system.

Environmental Policy 2024 proof points: Renewable Energy Use: Solar-generated electricity at Trex headquarters totaled more than 107 MWh in 2024.

sustainable and modern energy for all

 Energy Efficiency Initiatives: We prioritize energy efficiency across all major electricity, natural gas, and fuel usage in our operations. All Trex manufacturing plants use energy-efficient LED lighting, and additional LED upgrades at our Virginia facility reduced electricity consumption by approximately 163,000 kWh in 2024. Environmental Policy 2024 proof points:  Sustainable Sourcing: In 2024, Trex sourced an impressive 1.05 billion pounds of waste PE film and reclaimed wood for our decking products—an increase from 844 million pounds in 2023.  Efficient Shipping Practices: To reduce emissions, we offer a drop trailer program at Trex distribution sites, allowing trucks to pick up preloaded shipments instead of idling while waiting to be loaded. In 2024, we completed 438 drop loads, avoiding an estimated 7.1 metric tons of CO 2 e emissions. In 2024, Trex increased its use of rail transportation, a lower carbon alternative to trucks, by 95%. Equal Opportunity Learning and Development Program 2024 proof points: Employee Development: Trex employees completed over 62,438 hours of training in 2024.  Education Support: We provide tuition reimbursement to support employees pursuing continuing education and higher degrees. Occupational Health and Safety Policy Human Rights Policy 2024 proof points:  Comprehensive Safety Training: 100% of eligible employees completed required safety training, with sessions offered in both Spanish and English to ensure full understanding across all team members. Bilingual Support for Safety: By providing bilingual training, we aim to enhance safety knowledge and foster a stronger safety culture within the company. Leadership Training in EH&S: We introduced additional leadership training for EH&S supervisors and managers to further empower employees to stay vigilant and proactive about potential risks.
