9.4 By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities

Product Design Efficiencies 2024 proof points: Innovative R&D for Recycling: We invest in research and development to explore and recover additional streams of waste PE film that others have not yet tapped into for recycling, continually seeking advancements in efficiency. Recycling Manufacturing Waste: Our R&D efforts have focused on testing recycled plastic trimmings from the production of widely used personal products. This previously discarded waste is now approved for use in our recycling process.

Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization

and foster innovation

10.2 By 2030, empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, economic or other status

Human Rights Policy 2024 proof points: Consistent Candidate Evaluation: A standardized scorecard is used to evaluate job candidates consistently, ensuring a fair and objective hiring process.

Reduce inequality within and among countries

E

10.4 Adopt policies, especially fiscal, wage and social protection policies, and progressively achieve greater equality

Equal Opportunity 2024 proof point: Compensation Transparency: We use a compensation grade structure to define pay ranges for each position before evaluating applicants. Pay Transparency in Job Postings: To promote greater transparency, we now include compensation ranges in all job postings, ensuring clear communication about pay equivalence. Environmental Policy 2024 proof points: Sustainable Materials: Our decking is made from approximately 95% reclaimed and recycled materials, including waste PE plastic and wood scraps. Since our founding, we have upcycled over 5.5 billion pounds of waste plastic film that would have otherwise gone to landfills. Water Conservation: We employ a closed-loop recirculation system that recycles approximately 99% of the process water used at our Virginia and Nevada facilities, ensuring minimal water loss and maximum efficiency. Environmental Policy 2024 proof points: Sustainable Materials: Since inception, Trex has diverted and recycled over 5.5 billion pounds of recycled PE film. Reclaimed Resources: In 2024, we sourced 1.05 billion pounds of reclaimed wood and PE film for use in our products. Non-Hazardous Waste Recycling: We recycled more than 7,528 thousand tons of non-hazardous waste materials, contributing to our commitment to sustainability. Code of Conduct 2024 proof points: Environmental Transparency: We report our environmental performance and progress annually in our Sustainability Report, keeping stakeholders informed about our efforts and achievements. Supplier Accountability: All our suppliers are required to adhere to the standards outlined in our Vendor and Customer Code of Conduct and Ethics, ensuring responsible and ethical business practices across our supply chain. Environmental Policy 2024 proof points: Energy and Emissions Reduction: We continually evaluate our manufacturing processes and transportation methods to minimize energy and fuel consumption, thereby reducing GHG emissions. SmartWay® Carrier Usage: In 2024, we significantly increased our use of SmartWay® carriers, with 60% of our outbound decking loads transported by these energy-efficient carriers, up from 28% in 2023. This shift contributes to fuel savings and reduced emissions.
