The new integration of The Grey Elephant’s Brain4Tools solution and Esko Automation Engine reportedly enables packaging converters to automatically compare art files for commonalities and automatically sequence print jobs based on their complexity. The Grey Elephant’s advanced software can identify files dating back years, and moreover can also recognize files that require minimal changes to maximize press time. A new Standard Integration paper has been produced to make it easier for customers to implement the integra- tion effectively. • Reclassification of Pigment Red 53:1 as a category 2 carcinogen. • New guidance by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) on the application of Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Chemicals (CLP) criteria. • An official evaluation of the EU Cosmetic Products Regulation (CPR) by the European Commission. • Vietnam’s new Law on Chemicals draft. • Proposed implementation of a Weight of Evidence (WoE) framework for degradability of chemicals in Japan. • New rulemaking by Washington State’s Department of Ecology to “potentially” adjust the 1ppm (parts per mil- lion) allowable limit of lead in cosmetic products. • Australia’s proposed standards for chemicals of concern.
