TekniPlex Opens Facility In Wisconsin TekniPlex Healthcare has initiated production at its new- ly established 200,000-square-foot facility in Madison, Wisconsin. This site is expected to enhance the company’s Barrier Protection Systems business. It is designed to ensure reliable access to sterile barrier packaging for hospitals, outpatient surgical centres, labo- ratories, and patients, stated the company. The facility features a wide-width eight-color high-defi- nition flexographic printing press. This technology enables TekniPlex Healthcare to fulfil stringent healthcare printing requirements while maintaining a near-zero waste manu- facturing process. Sustainability is a primary focus for the new facility, which has adopted an eco-friendly design approach. The company states that at least 95 percent of the waste pro- duced by the facility is recyclable. Looking forward, the facility has plans the addition of a second flexographic printer, a cantilevered slitter rewinder, and a reversible salvage rewinder.

During the panel Siegwerk was represented by Alina Marm, Head of Global Sustainability and Circular Economy, and Marc Larvor, Head of Global PSR & Sustain- ability Inks and Coatings. Avoiding Blind Spots Alongside partners from Masterpress and Taghleef, the panel explored regulatory blind spots in the PPWR, the im- portance of design-for-recycling (DfR) guidelines, and how cross-industry collaboration can drive innovation. Siegwerk also shared insights into its CIRKIT product portfolio, which combines functional coatings and inks that maintain recyclability while enabling mono-material pack- aging solutions.
