REAL WEDDING Claudia & Andrew
C laudia and Andrew Mangiapane’s love story began in high school, where they quickly became best friends. From sharing lunches to sitting together in law class (where Andrew often copied Claudia’s work), they were inseparable. Despite their close bond, they hesitated to risk their friendship by dating until senior year when Andrew moved to Barrie to pursue his hockey career. They made time for each other even with the distance, and their friendship blossomed into romance. Andrew officially asked Claudia to prom in 2014, and they’ve been together ever since. After eight years of dating, Andrew proposed on September 2, 2022, during a private sunset boat ride on Toronto’s harbour. What Claudia thought was a farewell party for friends turned into a heartfelt proposal, with their families waiting at the dock to celebrate. On July 13, 2024, the couple tied the knot in Toronto, Ontario, welcoming a global guest list of family and friends. Claudia embraced a minimalist aesthetic with her first look, a stunning Ines Di Santo gown (Style: Smitten) from the designer’s Yorkville boutique. The gown’s simplicity was elevated with sentimental touches, including custom sleeves made from her mother’s wedding veil. She accessorized with a pearl bracelet gifted by her parents, baby blue Jimmy Choo heels adorned with pearls, and sapphire blue earrings—a gift from her sisters-in-law.
THE CEREMONY Claudia and Andrew’s
ceremony took place at the iconic St. Michael’s Cathedral in Toronto, a venue rich in history and deeply significant to their families. The grand setting, with its soaring arches and intricate details, provided a timeless backdrop for their vows. The ethereal sounds of the St. Michael’s Boys Choir filled the cathedral, creating a deeply moving atmosphere. Surrounded by 280 of their closest friends and family, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows in a traditional ceremony that celebrated their shared values and family heritage.
“We took photos with the same vintage blue Pontiac that we had at our high school prom—
it was such a full-circle moment.” -Claudia Mangiapane, Bride
