REAL WEDDING
Sabrina & Sam
A photo session was held at The Louix Louis Grand Bar on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, which matched their black-and-white colour scheme.
Also in attendance but not pictured were Frida and Mikael Backlund (Calgary Flames Captain), Monique and Noah Hanifin (former Flame, now with the Las Vegas Golden Knights), Sarah and Erik Gudbranson (Columbus Blue Jackets), and Brittany and Sean Monahan (Columbus Blue Jackets). The weekend was filled with love, laughter, and camaraderie, creating a poignant and joyful memory for all who knew Johnny, as it marked the last time this hockey family was together.
The wedding was a heartfelt reunion of close friends, including many of Andrew’s NHL teammates, past and present, who traveled from around the world to celebrate the couple. Guests included Tessa and Rasmus Andersson (Calgary Flames) and the late Johnny Gaudreau, a cherished friend and former Calgary Flames teammate of Andrew’s, who attended with his wife Meredith, a bridesmaid, and their daughter Noa, the flower girl, all of whom are pictured (above), along with other members of Claudia and Andrew’s bridal party.
“We wanted every detail to reflect our story, from the newspaper-inspired designs to the candles our guests could take home.” -Claudia Mangiapane, Bride
EXTRA! EXTRA! At the reception, held at the Globe and Mail Centre, every detail reflected the couple’s unique black-and-white “newspaper” theme. The seating chart featured a bold, editorial- style display of each guest’s name and table assignment on one side, while the other side showcased a stunning wall of locally-sourced candles labeled with “No. 88,” Andrew’s jersey number, and given to guests as favours. A life-sized mailbox added a playful and thematic touch as a card box, allowing guests to “mail” their well-wishes and gifts. “Even our thank-you cards were designed as postcards to tie in the ‘mail’ concept,” Claudia shares.
