Thankful For Faithfulness

By Emily Myers April 2026

for the Lord may not always be easy, and at times it may feel unno- ticed or unappre- ciated, but it is never wasted. God sees, and He values faithful- ness. Even when the results are not immediately visi- ble, we can trust that He is working through every ef- fort offered to Him.

courages us, strengthens us, and often chal- lenges us to ex- amine our own faithfulness. May we not take such faithfulness for granted. May we be quick to thank the Lord for those who serve, and may we also take time to en- courage them

ing not for recognition, but out of love for Him. Whether our role is seen or unseen, large or small, may we be found faith- ful, abounding in the work of the Lord, trusting that He will use it for His glory. And may we always remember to give thanks to God, who works in hearts, sustains His servants, and ensures that every labor done for Him is never in vain. Emily Myers and her husband, Daniel , live on a small farm in Missouri where they homeschool their seven children. Emily is a Certified Professional Midwife. Together, Emily and Daniel co-authored “Expres- sions of Thanksgiving,” a family devo- tional designed to cultivate hearts of gratitude through Scripture, song, and re- flection. Daniel also illustrated the book with his original artwork.

This month I am thankful for the ed- itor of this newspaper, Rob Pue. I un- derstand that this issue marks the beginning of the 27th year that Wis- consin Christian News has been pub- lished and distributed. I want to thank Rob for his seemingly untiring labor of love to inform, encourage, and at times convict fellow Christians, as well as witness to those who do not yet know the Lord. In 2 Corinthians 8, the Apostle Paul speaks with gratitude for the faithful service of Titus, recogniz- ing his earnest care and willingness to serve. He writes, “But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you” (2 Corinthians 8:16). Paul understood that such diligence and care were not by accident, but the work of God in a willing heart. It is a blessing to see that same kind of faithful labor still at work today. Week after week, year after year, this publication has been used to shine light in dark places, to speak truth in a world that often resists it, and to en- courage believers to stand firm. That kind of consistency does not happen without effort, sacrifice, and a deep commitment to the Lord. It is easy to begin a work with enthusiasm, but it is another thing entirely to continue faith- fully over many years, pressing on through challenges, opposition, and weariness. 1 Corinthians 15:58 reminds us, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” These words are both an encourage- ment and a reminder. The work we do

upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” The strength to continue does not come from ourselves alone, but from the Lord, Who sustains and equips His people for the work He has given them to do. When we feel depleted, He is able to renew us. Joshua 1:9 offers a final word of encouragement: “Have not I com- manded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Faithfulness is not only about endurance, but also about courage — the willingness to stand, to speak, and to continue even when it is difficult. It means trusting that God is with us in every step of obedience. As I reflect on these verses, I am reminded again how important it is to give thanks — not only for the blessings we receive, but for the people God uses to serve faithfully in His work. Just as Paul gave thanks for Titus, it is right for us to thank God for those who labor among us today. Their example en-

along the way. A word of gratitude or acknowledgment can be a great blessing to someone who has been quietly laboring for years. At the same time, may we each be willing to step into the work God has given us, serv-

Hebrews 6:10 further assures us of this truth: “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shewed toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” What a comfort it is to know that God does not overlook the quiet, steady service done in His name. Even when others may not fully see or understand, He does. Every act of service, every sac- rifice, every moment given in love for His sake is remembered by Him. Faithful service often requires per- severance. Galatians 6:9 encourages us, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” It can be tempt- ing to grow tired, especially when the work is demanding or the results are not immediately visible. There are times when discouragement creeps in and we wonder if our efforts are mak- ing any difference at all. Yet Scripture calls us to continue, trusting that God will bring the fruit in His time, in ways we may not yet be able to see. There is also strength promised for those who continue in the Lord’s work. Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait
