“Nocturne Colors 12:02AM” was originally painted plein air and has gone now through its third change after numerous shows it’s been hung in. My studio is in my home and when I’m on the road, my studio is the back of my Jeep, and there’s never really any time to get away from my own work and look with fresh eyes. For me, I get to see my work with fresh eyes when it is hung at an exhibition or competition. I often Will be at a show and see something I have hung on the wall and say to myself I can’t wait to get this painting out out of here because maybe I see something else I want to change or have another idea of something I want to do to the painting.
