The best way to address this risk is to build a community of compliance-focused on 4 key pillars, correct policy adoption, effective and efficient operations, best-in-industry cyber liability insurance and, most important, excellent training. 11:30am | LEVERAGING VDC INFORMATION IN BIM FOR FM Steven Ayer, Assistant Professor, ASU In this presentation, Dr. Steven Ayer (Assistant Professor at Arizona State University) will present his work on emerging virtual design and construction practices that leverage building information modeling (BIM). Much of his work has involved design and construction foci, which provide him with an in-depth understanding about current VDC practices. The resultant information generated in BIM during design and construction provide a wealth of opportunities for FM’s to better leverage BIM to make smarter operational decisions. These opportunities will be discussed during this session along with examples of the types of technologies that Ayer explores in his Emerging Technologies BIM Research Lab.
