Friday Afternoon Collective

For 2024, we’re excited to make a small but fun change to the structure of the NADOA Institute for our attendees and members. You’ll notice a new section on the program grid titled “Friday Afternoon Collective.” Wondering what it means? We’re taking the two Friday afternoon time slots and condensing them into two single classes (along with an Escheat Class alternative). These classes will feature two fascinating topics. The room will have a unique look and feel, with stadium-layout seating, and presenters who feel like keynote speakers but encourage dialogue. Best of all, we’ll all be sitting together collectively to enjoy this exciting new format! First up, you’ll hear from Chris Ayres, the Vice President of Investor Relations and Treasury at Chesapeake Energy. He’s young, witty, and entertaining,

and he’ll present on the mindset of energy investors and why energy has struggled to compete with the broader investment community. Who better to learn this from than a former investment banker? In our second session, Michael Freeman of the Verbal Judo Institute will teach you strategies originally developed for police officers to de-escalate conflicts. Mr. Freeman holds an Advanced Law Enforcement certification, has experience in civil rights investigations, and has spoken across the country. So, bring on those angry royalty owner phone calls! Our hope is that you’ll plan to stay at the Institute through Friday afternoon, enjoy this truly unique program change, and maybe even win a cool prize at the closing ceremony.
