The Molitor Natural Service Sires you see throughout this sale book positively compare in genetic strength to the AI sires we use and complementt those bloodlines. Remember that we have raised the calves that were born to these service sires to determine their future contribution to the herd genetics of 74 years here at the ranch. We travel many miles each year to evaluate over 1000 bulls on an “eyes on” basis and add 1 to 2 bulls a year to our operation. Many of the bulls we see are at the Midland Bull Test because those 500 to 700 animals come from elite registered Angus herds from 26 states and represent the newest genetics anywhere! Although this Close Out is not on a large number of steers, if you combine the Close Outs of all the Molitor Steers fed in recent years the results are outstanding. Those three years of results show all 77 steers that were fed graded 100% Choice or Higher. No Selects. These actual feedlot results confirm our commitment to using genetics that increase our carcass trait qualities and still produce a great feeding outcome. We have resisted the idea of chasing extreme carcass trends that we feel produce cattle with less lower body mass and muscle, have ease of movement problems because of structure issues, and in some bloodlines, problems of fertility and docility.
