DEPARTMENT RULES

1. ENTRY REGISTRATION: a. All homebrew entries must be pre-registered with fees paid via either: Online Entry by midnight Thursday April 1 6 at www.alamedbabo.fairmanager.com or Paper entries must be postmarked by Monday April 1 3 at the Alameda County Fair Exhibits Office. 2. DELIVERY: a. Bottle entries may be shipped or hand-delivered to the More Beer San Leandro Showroom by the end of business Thursday April 1 6 . b. Bottle entries MUST BE hand-delivered to all other locations (therefore not shipped) by an hour before their end of business Thursday April 1 6 . c. Bottle entries may be dropped off to the fairgrounds from 10AM until noon on Saturday April 18 . No entries will be accepted after noon Saturday April 18 . 3. LIMITATIONS: a. Competition is open to all homebrewers over 21 years of age on April 18 , 20 20 . Each exhibitor is limited to one entry per BJCP Subcategory, b. Fair Management and/or competition organizer may consolidate classes into suitable flights, if warranted, due to low number of entries in a class (ie. BJCP category). 4. BOTTLING: a. Each exhibitor must submit a minimum of THREE, clean, unmarked bottles, which are free of any identifying markings, in 12 oz bottles only. Due to the inconvenience of handling, no other bottles will be accepted. NIP bottles (6oz- 8oz) will be accepted in the strong ale, mead and barley wine categories. b. Each bottle must have a label attached including entrant name, division, class (spelled out), and fair assigned entry number. Printing the computer generated label online at: BABO LABEL LINK. c. PLEASE review the 2015 BJCP style guidelines at www.BJCP.org. d. Special attention should be given to any Entry Instructions noted in the category and subcategory so your brew will be entered and judged according to the proper style. e. Each entry qualifies for the homebrew label design competition. See DIVISION 415 for details to enter the homebrew label design competition. f. The competition organizer reserves the right to disqualify entries not meeting the documented rules. g. Entries become the property of the Alameda County Fair and will not be returned. It is not against any Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms regulations or federal laws to ship your entries via privately owned shipping company for analytical purposes. It is illegal, however, to ship alcoholic beverages via the U.S. Postal Service. 5. JUDGING: a. This homebrew competition uses the American system of judging. b. Beers will be ranked against one another to identify one 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd place entry in each flight. c. Judges will evaluate entries against the 2015 BJCP Guideline at www.BJCP.org . d. Judges will be experienced and BJCP ranked. Judges’ decision is final. e. Judging will be closed to exhibitors. Results will not be given by phone. 6. DISPLAY: a. Homebrew will be displayed in the Agriculture Building (Q) for the duration of the Fair.
