Date:
T he study was conducted by Dr. Beth Guertal at Auburn University on a recently established stand of ‘Rebel type’ tall fescue maintained at lawn height. Study design was a randomized complete block with four replications. Treatments consisted of a nontreated and Amino Iron applied a 1, 1.5, or 2 lb per acre on 11 January, 8 February, and 11 March. All treatments included Harrell’s SprayMAX® Nonionic Penetrant Plus as an adjuvant. Treatments were applied using a backpack CO 2 sprayer. Relative turfgrass color was assessed at 24 hours, 3 (or 5), 7, 14, 21, and 28 days after each application using a 1-9 scale where 1 represented dead or completely brown turf and 9 represented dark green, lush, and highly uniform turf. Amino Iron applied at 2 lb per acre enhanced tall fescue color relative to the nontreated on 11 out of 13 rating dates following the second application. Title Phyte Systemic Fungicide
Study:
Control of Pythium Blight on Perennial Ryegrass
Location: Rutgers University Collaborator: Bruce B. Clarke, Ph.D. Date: Summer 2021 Conclusion:
Title Phyte Systemic Fungicide showed excellent control of Pythium blight on this highly susceptible stand of young perennial ryegrass (seeded 6/11/2021). All rates of Title Phyte Systemic Fungicide provided significant disease control on a preventive basis, however a stepwise rate response was evident from 1, 2, 4, and 6 oz/1,000 sq ft respectively. Pythium control with Title Phyte was similar or better than current industry standard fungicides. This trial further confirms the benefit of incorporating Title Phyte into a balanced approach program for plant health, supplemental nutrition, and preventive control of important diseases like Pythium blight.
Figure 1: Data from two rating dates (July 2 and July 19) when Pythium blight symptoms were highest. Note the significant control with all Title Phyte treatments vs the Untreated control and similar control to other industry standard Pythium fungicides.

Title Phyte and Activator + SA
Study:
Curative Control of Pythium Root Rot on a Creeping Bentgrass Putting Green
Location:
Clemson University
Collaborator:
Joe Roberts, Ph.D.
Date:
Summer 2021
Conclusion:
Title Phyte® Systemic Fungicide was tested alone and in combination with Activator+SA on an active outbreak of Pythium root rot. Although pressure was extremely high in this trial, the combination of Title Phyte® Systemic Fungicide with Activator+SA significantly improved overall turf quality and secondary control of brown patch throughout July and August. No significant differences were observed in overall control of Pythium root rot, although improvements in turf quality and health supported a trend in lower disease in Title Phyte® Systemic Fungicide and Activator+SA treated plots. The addition of Activator+SA to Title Phyte® Systemic Fungicide provided significant benefits to turf quality and disease control under extreme pressure.
Figure 1: Turf quality rating (AUQPC) across treatments over the course of the study (July – August). The only treatment to show significant turf quality improvement vs the non-treated control was the Title Phyte® Systemic Fungicide + Activator+SA.

Figure 2: Pythium root rot incidence (AUDPC) on trial area throughout the course of the study (July – August). No treatment was able to provide significant disease suppression compared to the non-treated control. However, trends show improved turf quality and lower overall disease incidence Signature Xtra and Title Phyte® Systemic Fungicide + Activator+SA treatments.
Figure 3: Brown patch incidence (AUDPC) on trial area throughout the course of the study (July – August). Title Phyte® Systemic Fungicide alone and Signature Xtra were not able to suppress disease significantly compared to the non-treated control. Title Phyte® Systemic Fungicide + Activator+SA showed significantly lower brown patch incidence than all other treatments.
