Southeastern US Bentgrass Greens Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee This region features a mostly temperate climate but can be moist and cold in the winter and hot and humid in the summer. The wet conditions usually last a short time, the result of storms in the Gulf or Atlantic, and artic storms from the Great Plains. In winter months, temperatures range from around freezing at night to highs in the 50s to 70s in the daytime. Summer heat often rises above 100 degrees for short periods.
