mand, two not mentoined; John— three cases— one by use of means, two by command. Yet Mrs. Eddy (Rudimental Divine Science, p. 11 f) says, “ The lecturer or healer who is indeed a Scientist never lays hands on a patient.” That settles it for Jesus Christ. He was not a Christian Scientist. There is absolutely no comparison be tween the methods of Christian Science and those employed by Jesus and His disciples in healing. It is not Chris tian. .Christian Science may be a euro for an imaginary disease. It may be an imaginary cure for a real disease— but in the latter case the patient always dies of the disease, whether or not they have been pronounced cured by Chris tian Science. God does heal by the direct power of the Holy Spirit in answer to prayer to this day. He does give the gift of heal ing when it is for His glory to do so (1 Cor. 12:9). Thousands of Chris tians can testify to healing miracles that have been performed in answer to prayer. In some cases Gdd-given means have been used— in others the sup pliants have been led to depend upon supernatural power alone. Those who have a profound belief in the Scriptures still hold and teach that God heals, but that the prayer for healing must operate on the same basis as all other prayer— it must be governed by the laws of prayer as laid down in the Word. No one need think their prayer for healing should be heard when they have in their lives all the hindrances to prayer so clearly defined in the Bible. Lrike all prayer also, there can be no assur ance of answer until the will of God is discerned, and this can not be discern ed so long as there is not a complete yieldedness in the life. God is glorified in the healing of some (Jno. 11:4) but in other cases, He is best glorified in their patient suffering (2 Cor. 12:7-9),
