BIOBASED PRODUCTS Biobased products are those which are derived from plants and other agricultural, marine and forestry materials. The USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) BioPreferred ® Program recognizes biobased products in a variety of categories, including cleaning products.

South Coast AQMD established the “Clean Air Choices” Cleaner Certification Program that focuses on very low-polluting cleaning products used by maintenance and cleaning professionals. A product must contain 10 grams per liter or less of VOCs.

CARPET & RUG INSTITUTE (CRI) SEAL OF APPROVAL
UL Environment is a global independent safety science company whose mission is to advance global sustainability by supporting the growth and development of environmentally preferable products, services and organizations. UL Environment’s ECOLOGO Program offers credible third-party certification of products and services which have a reduced environmental impact. ECOLOGO product certification is a voluntary, multi-attribute, lifecycle-based environmental certification that indicates a product has undergone rigorous scientific testing, exhaustive auditing, or both, to prove its compliance with stringent, third-party environmental performance standards.
CRI has a Seal of Approval for carpet cleaning products which includes spotters, in-tank, pre-
spray, encapsulates, as well as pet stains and odors. Additionally, their Seal of Approval program includes equipment such as extractors and vacuum cleaners. The CRI Seal of Approval program tests the effectiveness of carpet cleaning equipment and certifies deep cleaning extractors that effectively remove soil without damage to the carpet. Green Seal ® is a US-based, independent, non- profit organization whose mission is to identify and promote products and services that have less impact on human health, the environment and our natural resources. Green Seal certified products have met strict criteria for reduced toxicity, reduced packaging and required performance testing, as verified by a third- party review and a manufacturing site-audit, as well as ongoing compliance monitoring.

VOC CONTENT
Products meet South Coast AQMD “Clean Air Choices” Cleaner Certification Program for ultra-low VOCs. To qualify, must have a VOC content less than or equal to 10 g/L or tested by SCAQMD. Test method 313-06. Calculations account for all formula ingredients including low vapor pressure ingredients. (www.aqmd.gov) * Manual VOC Calculation: % VOC at Concentrated Level / Specific Gravity * 100% / Dilution Ratio = % VOC Diluted.

Designates a cleaner/degreaser that can be used on a food contact area. Cleaner/degreaser must be rinsed with potable water after use. Designates a cleaner/degreaser that can be used in an area where food is handled or prepared, but not used on food contact surfaces, i.e. – a floor cleaner. Designates a degreaser WHICH can be used on a food contact area. Degreaser must be rinsed with potable water after use. Designates a product that cannot be used in food prepara- tion or handling area. These products can however be used in areas of food plants where food is not present.
