manage to notch a convincing victory against better opposition. Her win over Natasha Spence in late April did not count as such. FLYWEIGHT Another Ring championship defense and another brutal demolition job by Fundora, and against a Top 5 opponent to boot in Mexico’s Badillo. There are a lot of great things to be said about Fundora, but she’s saying them convincingly enough with her fists. Badillo would have been competitive against almost anyone else in the division, but Fundora simply annihilated her. All of that translates into a slight demotion for Badillo in favor of Russia’s Jasmina Zapotoczna, who moves to No. 4 as Badillo slips to the bottom of the Top 5. STRAWWEIGHT WBO titlist Sarah Bormann (rated No. 2 last month) once again did what she does best: score wins at home in Germany against respectable opposition. But her split decision victory over Spain’s Isabel Rivero was not enough for the panel to validate a move past pound-for-pound talent Yokasta Valle. Instead, Bormann gets to keep her seat warm until she finally comes out of the cocoon and faces Valle in a Ring championship match that could ignite this dormant but potentially very interesting division. ATOMWEIGHT Former WBC titleholder Fabiana Bytyqi (No. 4 last month) was finally removed from the 102-pound division after making another jump upward to to score a victory at bantamweight – this after winning a fight at 115 pounds. We’re not sure where she will land, but a return to 102 seems highly unlikely. In a very thin field in boxing’s lightest division, one name stood out due to her 11-0 record and her terrific upside, and that was Mexico’s Camila Zamorano. The teenager (she’s only 17) was thus rated at No. 5 as Nao Ugawa moved up to fill the vacancy left behind by Bytyqi.

proof of that before signing the ballot. Hence, no cake for Fundora just yet, although there is definitely plenty of sweetness awaiting her as she moves on with her extraordinary career. MIDDLEWEIGHT The 160-pound division, historically an elite weight class in male boxing, is one of the most desolate in the women’s realm, boasting only a handful of top-class fighters around the world. It was only a few weeks ago that Australia’s Chloe Chaos crashed the division at No. 5, but after losing to No. 1 contender Desley Robinson, Chaos found herself being replaced by fellow Aussie Kaye Scott, whose only claim to fame is a win over Robinson from last year (which Robinson avenged in December). JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT Another thin division without a dominant fighter in sight, the 154-pound weight class has had very little movement recently. Canada’s Mary Spencer scored a solid win over formerly rated Venezuelan contender Ogleidis Suarez, but it was just enough to keep the 40-year-old Spencer at her current No. 4. In the meantime, Florida’s Elia Carranza is stuck in 6-10 territory until she can
