SELECTING THE RIGHT ELITE RIFLE Elite 2 vs Elite 3 vs Elite 4 vs Elite 5 Rifles
• By popular demand, DSI® has introduced the Elite 5 rifle! The Elite 5 has a slightly shorter length of 37½" long and has a 4 ¾ " butt plate, and weighs in at approximately 2.5 pounds. The Elite 5 gives you the presence of a larger rifle on the field while the slightly smaller and lighter weight allows performers of any size and strength to throw a great toss. • The Elite 4 rifle is typically used by drum corps and world class color guards. It looks larger on the field and the floor because it is 39" long and has a 5" butt plate. The Elite 4 rifle weighs approximately 2.4 - 2.6 pounds, and since it is the largest rifle, it is typically used by the most experienced performers. • The Elite 3 rifle is a slightly smaller version of the Elite 4 rifle. It is 36" long and has a slightly smaller 4.25" butt plate. The Elite 3 rifle weighs approximately 2.2 - 2.4 pounds, making it easier for younger performers to toss and control. • The Elite 2 rifle is a hybrid of the Elite 3 and Elite 4 rifles. It is 39" long which mirrors the Elite 4 but has a smaller butt plate (4.25") similar to the Elite 3. The Elite 2 rifle weighs approximately 2.3 - 2.5 pounds, and is a great option for students wanting to spin a longer rifle but require the feel of a smaller rifle.
