Typically, the youth we work with don't have people who care for them or allow them to express themselves. When the staff from Monthaven come in, they make the youth feel heard and seen and loved. If it wasn't for Monthaven, our youth would have not found and developed skills that they are good at with their artistic abilities. – Bledsoe Youth Academy

One of the benefits of healing arts we’ve witnessed is its ability to facilitate non-verbal expression. Our women who’ve experienced trauma or struggle with substance use often find it difficult to articulate their feelings and experience through words alone. Healing arts offers them a safe space to express emotions and experiences that might be too overwhelming to verbalize. – Abby Newhall and Taylor Mora, Doors of Hope
