Every year, the MACC presents an annual Veteran Arts Exhibition and Fundraiser. For our Sixth Annual event in October 2024, we presented an exhibition from the Quilts of Valor Foundation. These large quilts are awarded to service members or veterans who have been touched by war. In addition, the exhibition included the paintings of Tennessee artist and military veteran Gerald Morgan along with art created by participants in the MACC’s Between The Lines (BTL) healing arts program.
2024 ANNUAL VETERANS ART EXHIBITION American Legion Post 17 in Gallatin celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024. To mark the occasion, Post 17 erected a sculpture of a combat infantryman outside its Sumner County Veterans Residence on South Water Street. Titled “Blaze of Glory,” the statue was created by MACC healing arts facilitator and reclaimed metal sculptor Val Adams.
