2024-2029 Capital Campaign
Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center has grown exponentially since its founding in 2017. Our school opened with just 30 students, who learned art in one of Monthaven’s four upstairs classrooms. Fast forward to 2024, and the situation at Monthaven couldn’t be more different. More than 1,000 youth and adult students were enrolled in the MACC’s art classes last year, an incredible 3,000 percent increase from our humble academic beginnings! What hasn’t changed is the number of our classrooms, which now must accommodate a vastly larger student body. Though the MACC has accomplished much in this limited space, we’ve been unable to meet the increased demand for pottery, music and many other specialized courses. Aware of these limitations, the MACC worked with a consultant in 2023 to explore options to increase capacity. The MACC engaged in months of due diligence, investigating the feasibility and sustainability of multiple options. In the end, MACC leadership decided the best course of action was to expand the Monthaven campus to include a new, 20,000-square-foot art center. In 2024, the MACC launched the quiet phase of a five-year, $10 million capital campaign titled “A Time to Build.” By the end of the first year, the MACC raised an impressive 20 percent of its goal. Great work is underway as we move towards launching the public phase of the campaign. We expect significant support from our many loyal donors and benefactors to help us over the finish line.
