First Summer Teen Immersive at Nōssi The MACC expanded its popular summer arts camp for children to include specialized courses for teens. This new Summer Teen Art Immersive was held at Nōssi College of Art and offered seven different camps, including a culinary program and architecture class. Healing Arts Receives Creative Forces Grant The National Endowment for the Arts awarded the MACC a Creative Forces Grant to support the organization’s Between the Lines Healing Arts Program for military veterans. The $50,000 grant helped the MACC provide more than 2000 engagements to military participants suffering from trauma. Bernie Taupin Comes to Hendersonville Artist Bernie Taupin showcased 25 of his major works at the MACC in an exhibition titled An American Resurrection. Best-known for his long-time songwriting collaboration with Elton John, Taupin is also a prolific visual artist whose works pay tribute to his love of America. Meet Me At The MACC MACC Regional Arts Director Ruth Chase introduced this popular new series that provides support and information to local artists. Among other things, artists receive helpful tips on networking and marketing their works.
