wooden cross,* which, though somewhat top-heavy, was standing absolutely upright upon another b ook ! The world in convulsion? Most assuredly it was— and is! But, thanks be to God who commandeth and the sun stands fast—-the old cross stands—U N SH A K E N ! "Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God ac­ ceptably with reverence and godly fear” ! Then let this tot­ tering old earth continue to tremble and shake. The temblors only thrill the hearts of those who await the coming o f the King in His kingdom that, please God, shall never be moved! * This little cross, about four inches high, was hand-carved, and presented to the writer during an evangelistic campaign at Washington, D.C., by “ The Others Class”—a class o f young ladies in the First Brethren Church of that city. Before the quake, it was standing, with some mementos, on a top shelf. Afterwards, all the other things from that shelf, were hidden under piles o f books. These poor, blinded Jews know not that their sorrows are still ahead. Yet God is not assembling the sons o f Jacob into the land o f their fathers to be destroyed by earth­ quake. There is another divine purpose in view. Beach (California) on the evening of March 10, 1933. A t this writing, we still have now and then those l i t t l e jolts which keep us from forgetting. A fter a s h o r t eleven sec­ onds, we ran out upon the street to join the c r o w d s rushing forth from their homes. Every­ w h ere a b o u t us, houses were hurled fr om their fo u n ­ dations, a n d t h e streets were filled with b r i c k a n d other debris fr om ruined buildings. Our first incli­ nation was to rush over to our beauti­ fu l new church to see what had hap­ pened there. God had been good to us. W e walked up into the study , and found that every book on our shelves had been hurled to the floor. Furniture was upset; it was certainly a most di­ sheveled scene that we looked upon ! Wading in through the piles o f books and furniture, we saw a number o f books On one side

Despite the depression, the Lord, in answer to believing prayer, has enabled the sor- ciety to publish over 350,000 books and booklets for free distribution throughout Israel. Several hundred thousand tracts likewise have been published.
